GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Rheumatologist to join our esteemed medical team. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of rheumatic diseases and their management, with a commitment to providing high-quality patient care. As a Rheumatologist, you will be responsible for diagnosing and treating conditions such as arthritis, lupus, and other autoimmune disorders while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to enhance patient outcomes.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including detailed medical histories and physical examinations, to diagnose rheumatic conditions effectively.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that may include medication management, lifestyle modifications, and referrals to specialists as needed.
- Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems to document patient interactions, treatment plans, and progress notes accurately.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals in areas such as endocrinology, dermatology, and psychiatry to provide comprehensive care for patients.
- Perform procedures related to rheumatology care, including joint injections and aspirations.
- Stay abreast of advancements in rheumatology through clinical research and continuous education to enhance treatment protocols.
- Educate patients about their conditions, treatment options, and the importance of adherence to prescribed therapies.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing patient service and clinical outcomes.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution with completion of an accredited residency in Internal Medicine followed by a fellowship in Rheumatology.
- Board certification in Rheumatology is preferred; candidates must be eligible for board certification if not yet certified.
- Proficiency in EHR systems and familiarity with Epic software is highly desirable.
- Experience in clinical research related to rheumatic diseases is advantageous.
- Strong understanding of medical imaging techniques relevant to rheumatology diagnostics.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build rapport with patients from diverse backgrounds.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Commitment to maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations and other relevant healthcare standards.
